The festivities began on the 19th December with the giving of presents; warm clothes for the children and a warm shawl for the mothers. Its pretty cold here at the moment! We had 26 mothers and 36 children at the centre. In the evening several children, their mothers and members of staff watched a film together and slept the night at the centre.
The morning was filled with excitement as the children and women dressed up for the outing.
After having breakfast together most of us piled into two buses leaving a few of the new mothers or those not feeling well behind. It was a short journey this year; we went just ten minutes drive away to the botanical gardens. The children and mothers enjoyed playing games, racing and singing together. A couple of mothers even performed short dramas for us.

The picnic ended with chicken biriani for lunch. It was a special and fun time for all!
